Pede's are way better. Directional though. Search, it's been discussed before. Also you haven't said anything about your setup, what you are looking to drive, how much you are willing to spend.....

not to worried about the price. was going to run them just a play tyres in 35's depending no there road handling. as the ute only 5000k's old still got a lot of life life in the standard tyres. will have a three inch lift with superior super flex arms going on in just over 2 weeks. so its my work ute but i still play hard in it.

I have run both (many years ago - comp and play) and IMO the jungle trekkers are just a great allrounder, they just do everything well. The ET2's were awesome but overall i found the JT's to be that little bit better. Also a set of 33/11.5/15's are FAT on a GQ, and you might just get away with them as an everyday'er in QLD. 35's just get too much attention up here ATM. The only other good allrounders i would consider are the Maxxis creepys and the road spec trepadores.

agree.

but you would have read that in the tyre topic on JT's before posting this one.

however ETs are directional - are you gonna carry two spares?.
you carry a 35 BFG MT or similar, problem solved.

Mate - disclaimer first - I've got no personal experience with either, BUT, I have looked into the same thing. Plenty of people knock the JTs saying the ETs are heaps better; however ETs are directional - are you gonna carry two spares? Then again, plenty of JT users claim JTs are far better on road and have far better traction on cross slopes. Add that to not having the directional / spare tyre dilema and you've got a potentially better / more practical all rounder that does a bloody good job but isn't the best comp purpose extreme tyre and therefore doesn't have the same reputation or cult following.

Regarding size - most tyre manufacturers tend to overstate their size, whereas Simex tend to either be fairly accurate or even understate. A Simex 34" is typically similar or in some cases larger than a 35" in many other brands. Also note that per the Dynamic website (see Marin's post), the ET 35s run at 34.9" and the JT 34s run between 34.3" and 34.6" depending on width (potentially as little as 0.15" or 3.8mm difference in clearance). I therefore wouldn't make an out and out declaration on JTs vs ETs based on only ETs being available in a nominal 35" size.

G'day all,

I just bought my self Simex JT 2 today, deep down I like ET 2 more ! but I thought the JT 2 look's a bit tamer than ET 2 on the black top, so that's why I choose Simex JT 2 ! and also, I can't be bother to keep changing tyre all the time !
The question is, what tyre pressure should I run on bitumen, 32psi, 34psi, 36psi ???
for so many years I've always run BFG or Big Horn, so this is the first time I run Simex on my GU !!!:bananaro: Thank's for the info fellas !!!

Cheers,

You will hate them as a daily tyre. First thing in the day they shake like fuqk for the first 10 mins - they flat spot badly overnite when sittin there.

They are loud as a twin prop plane, and will attract the cops, but pedistrians never walk out in front of you. Then be weary in the wet, they arent that flash...
You are better off and will end up with them as weekend tyres, as they wont last on the road.

But you knew that reading the tyre topic

Pressures, start at 36, it will depend on how heavy yours patrol is.

What price did you get them for - new? what size?

Thank's for the info truckster, I got them from flea-bay reasonably cheap comparing to the new one at around $470 each for JT 2 and for ET 2 at $500 each, that was the quote from Lindsay tyre these days,as you know the price of all tyre gone up a lot lately ! The size I've got are 34/10.5/16

Absolutely love it !!! the only thing is I have to get use to it, to the noise and the feel like riding single engine Cessna from home to the play ground...!!:D:D:D but it's worth it !!
