hi
this is my very first post so please don't be to rough on me.
I got a 2002 gu3 patrol and im thinking of change both tanks to long range tanks.
I was told that I have to change one of the upper control arm and get a bent one
which they sell in the market.
I was just wondering if I go on full flex, is it going to hit the sub tank?
I did a research about it and I couldn't find anything.
so your comments will help.
Thanks :D

Thanks for the quick reply,
sorry I didn't explain my self properly.
what I meant is if I do buy the bent arm, is it still gonna hit or the only way to find out
is actually buy one and fit everything up and see how it goes?

Like Jamie said, it really depends on the tank.
I have the straight upper arms but the long range sub tank (85L sub tank made in WA by Outback Accessories).
it has a cut-out section in the rear to give the arm room for full drop on more than 4" lift.

The bent arms will give you heaps more room for most long range sub tanks. It is really only the rear part of the sub tank as they make them to extend out under the arm and close to the diff to get maximum volume.

So before you buy the sub tank, ask if it has the cut out for clearance.

I have a 70lt SS water tank made by them.
The rear section was already stepped down from manufacture but with 12.5" travel rear shocks there was no way the upper arm was going to clear it so I notched it out and tigged it back up. Clears by 10mm now at full flex or droop.
Only lost about 3lts capacity

hi gordie
ill check the tank if its got a cut out or if it will miss the arm.
you would think that they would make them all the same so you don't have to change parts around to make one thing fit(how they got the cut out on your tank)!
what difference is it gonna make if you lose or gain extra 5-10 litres.
but every manufacture got different ideas.
