Diff oil capacities

Well the Nissan GOD says front diff H233B 5.4 litres wagon and 4.3 litres pickup. H260 diff rear 4.7 litres H233B rear 2.1 litres. For liftered rigs this changes somewhat so only filling to the plug will have less oil in the diff than these specs. So this could be a problem in so far as the pinion bearings may not get enough lubrication due to the higher tilt angle, with the front castor adjustments will bring this back to somewhere close to standard angle, and shouldn't be a problem, the rear is a bit different as in most cases this angle will be different from std height and the pinion will not have as much oil available to it as std angle. I would like to say this is OK but i cannot as there is to much evidence to support that to little lubrication leads to failure. A little to much lubrication with gears and oil doesn't do a lot except maybe run a little hot. With this if you are concerned about this with your rear diff i would fill the diff with the correct volume of oil, it is what i do. To do this i jack one side up and fill the diff with the correct volume and replace the plug.
