Another great video mate. Big river is one of my favourite camping and play destinations, although a lot of tracks around there have been graded lately for logging which is a bit of a bummer.

Thanks mate. What's you're recommendation on tracks around there? We didn't do a heap of exploring this time around but I'm already keen to head back.

 

I've lost my tracking logs, but If you cross over the river at Vernnells Bush Camp, you can jump on the Old Reefton Logging Track which has some great climbs up to about 950m elevation where you get a good view of the valleys. If you follow that track for about an hour or two, it will take you all the way up to where the rover feeds into Eildon.

If you go south from Vernnells, there's the Frenchman's Spur track, it's got some good climbs but there are a few super steep logging tracks that connect to it, but I can't quite remember where. And that's if it hasn't been graded or closed....
