As a surfie kid growing up and going through high school I use to smoke it.
We use to have a session before school with mates sometimes. (Peer pressure thing I think)
It was a blast some days..
I Remember doing a double period of tech drawing one day and I just sat there staring blankly at the black board .
Teacher would of know something was going on surly..
Then at lunch going for another session. off chops all day.

Now a days I wouldn't even consider it, and I haven't touched it for a long time..
If I did have a puff now I would be in a fetal position in the corner somewhere or outside spewing my guts up..
So no way I would ever smoke it again ..

I smoked pot regularly from about 17 years of age thru to about 25 and then only had the occasional puff up until about 30 then gave it up. Some of the pot around at the time, talking about late 80s would really get you ripped, the hydroponic stuff was dam evil.

The legal side would make no difference to me. lol

I personally just don't like the smell of it or what it does to me. I've smoked it a few times when I was younger but these days it doesn't interest me. Hell I don't even get time to get drunk anymore.

I reckon all drugs should be legalised. Incentives, taxs, rehab for the likes of Herion. The goverment would make a killing of it tax wise, gangs would loose a huge income. Win win I reckon. Shame there all worried about their next election.
Proabition has never worked its time to try something new.

As said earlier in this thread, I have seen the prolonged use of this drug affect people in every possible way. I am so pleased to have not gone anywhere near it.
Now there is a push to legalise it for medical use, and oddly, I am all for this.

Cheers.....Lionel.

Used to have the odd smoke when I was in Canada many many years ago, but only touched it once since, a mate and I were smoking one outside on the verandah and my daughter caught me (she was about 8yo), told her it was a normal ciggy and got away with it. Just the other month I told her (she is 19 now) what it was we were smoking....needless to say she wasn't very happy with me. I don't touch the stuff now and haven't for a long time and like Mick don't even get pissed anymore (hate the feeling of waking up feeling like crap). I am with nissnut on the legalisation of it for medical use, if it can help some people then why not, we try all sorts of man made drugs on people and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't so why not give medical marijuana a go, but under strict rules and conditions of course.

Ripped into it in my late teens to mid/late 20's. It was enjoyable to start with and then just became a habit.
I haven't smoked in about 15years. Legality never made any difference to me.
With the benefit of hindsight, if I had my time again I would have avoided it. Those years I smoked it were pretty well wasted, literally and figuratively.
It is strongly associated with the development of some types of psychosis in predisposed individuals. It is not the completely benign substance some advocates espouse.

I've used it three times in my life and every time I greened out, and my eyes do funny things. So I stick to cheap grog, has a better effect for me lol....

If we are tested positive to alcohol at work we get sacked.
If we test positive to ice or heroin or pot its down to the shrink. It seems big mining companies are happy to employ criminals.

Yeah well, the dog didnt die. Do you realise how many people die from alcohol and nicotine all the time? How many from heroin and meth?

There is allot of things with pot thats about harm minimisation. At a medical level, its proven to be less harmful thank alcohol

Me personally I dont touch it. Its illegal. I work in Government circles. I certainly know my alcohol intake is harmful, and its all legal. If alcohol was not legal, I wouldnt take it. But is, and its something I can apply as an outlet without doing other stuff like having an affair or bashing someone. Alcohol is my little escape without consequence, except to my body, but I think, life is hard and we all need a little something.
