prolly done to death but i can't find it

will gu wheels fit a gq?

Why would you want bigger rims? Now I am not interested in being a wagon wheel ****** but seriously folks I am looking at new tyres for the old GQ. Taller tryes makes some sense but are they worth the big bucks?

I was considering bigger wheels will GU fit.

Thanks all.

The point was I am not looking for BIG wheels but I am doing up the old GQ and there are factory GU wheels on the market as people buy flasher ones.

I was thinking the GU wheels might look good on the GQ as somthing a bit different without going to great expense. Thanks for the feedback.

Before you go and buy a set of 16" rims, have you researched the tyres/cost for 15" v 16"?

If you want to fit bigger tyres then:

33" on 15" rims is roughly equal to 285/75R16 on 16" rims

35" on 15" rims is roughly equal to 315/75R16 on 16" rims

id go all out 15x10 alloys and at least 33/12.5 muddies
This tyre combo looks great but its useless offroad. For a 10inch wide rim you need a tyre thats 13.5 to 15.5inches wide.

not quiet right there mate I run 305x75x16s equal to 15x33s

plus mate your example there same size tyre diffrent width thats all

33s to 35s 2" hieght diff

75s to75s same hieght ;)

I all so run 10"x16" alloys 305 fits nice

have seen 15"x 8" GU rims on GQ with 33'x15' claws very exsposed side walls as tyre is a lot wider that rim

cheers lindon

They do look cool but are useless off road when aired down, due to rim being to wide for the tyre the beads pop of the tyres very easily. With an 8 inch rim and 12.5 tyre you don't have that problem and 10inch rim works great off road aired down when it has the correct width tyre on min 13.5 to a max 15.5inches.
