I used a boost reference adapter from turbosmart which meant no drilling etc and mounts right under the map sensor

Hi All,

After some advice on the boost gauge sensor install location on a 2010 zd30crd patrol. It seems most people are tapping it into the hose that runs from the intercooler to the turbo however this is rubber. Can i tap drill this? I have ordered Redarc Boost/ETG gauge yet to receive but I believe it comes with a T piece that is pointless for this engine ?

Wondering what everyone's experience with this is. Pic is attached with the red arrow where i think is my only option.

Yes into that pipe works, tap into the upper side to prevent oil mist from breather building up in the tubing when stopped. That is where I put mine first time I did it.

 

Thanks, did you need silicon or was it air tight with just the thread ?
