it belongs where the two bolt flange with the tapered hole in the middle are.
On the right side of the intercooler.

So yes, it is missing.

 

Cheers to you and heyhey..... the place you have indicated, has the mounting holes etc and nipple point in the center (un-tapped) - what I was more concerned/puzzled with is the hell is the wiring loom? I had the IC off tonight and tried to follow the main lines but everything appeared to be plugged in etc:doh:

 

As DieselTuner said, it's not there. BUT that is one weirdo intercooler as it has the MAP sensor in a different place to those in Aus.

However on yours it should be on the front of the intercooler between the left intercooler mounting bolt and the intercooler cover bolt.

 

Your picture is too small to work that out.

 

yeah sorry only had the iphone on me and was crappy light! i'll try to track down some manual/ref document that may show why this does not not have a MAP sensor or even the MAP sensor plug?

 

There must be a bung in the hole otherwise there would be leak, is that a screw I can see in the hole? The early ZD30 doesn't pay much attention to the MAP, I had had mine (2000 model) disconnected for a while back in the old days when I was looking at cures for limp just to see what happened and it didn't care, so they could have just dropped it off, are you sure there are no "spare" plugs at the front somewhere.

 

thanks Geeyoutoo - there is no bung in there, its actually a sealed cast, as if it missed the drilling phase of production. As for the plug's whereabouts :angryfir: I'll take it to a nissan specialist today or god forbid a nissan service agent.

 

The MAP on the DI is only a over boost fail safe, it is not used to calculate any running requirements.

You can run your boost gauge from the barb or unscrew it and blank it off.

 

Had nothing better to do for a few minutes so here's a pic of mine right now (last one was taken during installation so it doesn't show the lot).

Chances are if its not there and there is no wiring there for it.
It is either in a different spot, or it doesnt have one at all.
