They have a safety feature that prevents heads , hands and other body parts from getting caught in the window when the auto up is used. There is a reset procedure to set this.

I would check that nothing is binding the window first and lube the runners before performing the reset.

 

You don't need to remove the door trim to access the switch. You can see it just by removing the top part of the armrest.
