Gday All

Was driving to work this morning, about 5-10min in and suddenly all these warning lights came on, check engine, A/T oil temp, water in filter, !!, battery and subtank lights all suddenly at once.
was just driving down the road casual not full noise, not towing etc. and the lights have since not gone off even after i let it sit for a few hours.
I checked the oil and it was low so i put 4l into it and still no change in lights.

Its a 2007 zd30crd auto with 119,000kms.

I havent been offroad or doing anything more then town driving in the last 2 weeks.

Thanks and sorry for the **** picture.

Misprint or did you really mean the oil was 4L down?????????????????????????? where the hell did that go?????????????

Lights can come on for a few reasons, bad earths can send them haywire sometimes. Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and see if they come back on when you re connect.

Nope not a misprint, 4L in and I could possibly put in the last L from the bottle.
I know I have a very small leak from the front main seal but its bugger all, but maybe its added up over time.... i need to keep a better eye on it, but i would have thought oil light would have come on before now if I was driving around with no oil.

I will try disconnecting the batteries for a bit, thanks.

4L is just on half the engine capacity of 8.2L, how often do you service it, in time and K's? A small leak around the timing cover seal isn't going to lose that much even in a few months, it's got to be going somewhere. The oil light is not driven by level it is driven by oil pressure so as long as there is enough oil in there to maintain pressure the light won't come on.

I have only had the patrol for 3 months, it was serviced 5000kms ago and I have had it checked over (not a full service but inspection) about 1000kms ago.
I usually take them in every 10,000kms or 6-9 months depending what sort of driving i do.

Had it in at Nissan patrol parts at Beenleigh about 1 month ago who told me about the leak and a few other little details but he said it would be fine for another 6 months before it NEEDED fixing.
I was concerned about the amount of oil, but I just dont know where it went, no oil in the car park or my driveway , have looked under it and not big puddles, not blowing soot etc.
Ill remeber that about the oil light now, thanks.

Might be time to check for codes. Oil is not going to set off all the other lights so that is a different issue. Have you checked battery condition and alternator output.

Out of curiosity when did you check the oil.

A distinct possibility, if he disconnects battery for 10 minutes to delete codes and see what happens on restart we may know more.
