What Does The Royal Family Know That We Don't?

Latest news from the Palace is that Prince Philip is retiring from official duties at 96. The Queen, just into her nineties is carrying on as usual. The Queen Mother made it past 100 (and was a smoker.)

It wasn't always like this, King George snuffed it in his 60's. What have they found? Their genetics are different. I'm not a Royal Watcher but I did read many years ago that they were keen on Naturopathy. Maybe they have found the long life pill that researchers have been talking about for some years?

I'd like to know. Any ideas?

Genetics are not the only component as there can be a skip in certain things in generations, my Mother and Father both died of lung cancer in their early 60's, My Mothers Brother died of bowel cancer early, my grandfather died of lung cancer in his 50's, his sisters family all got cancer in some form right through the entire family, so, I'm 72 and my Daughter is hoping she got the same gene skip as me ;).

I don't think they know anymore than we do........

Charles does it with his face cheeks.

That's why his eyes are so close and his ears are prominent......

Camilla reportedly hangs off them delightedly.

Unfortunately he still passes wind between his lips..

Geez Esty, it's not like you to throw in an irrelevent little morsel like that! Where did that come from???

Hehe

Anyway...

Can someone please explain how the royal family is still relevant in 2017?

Apart from being a massive drain on the public purse. I just don't understand where the symbolism of their existence fits in with modern times.

And so will say many after this Queen passes on, I have no loyalty to any other royal after this one, I have no loyalty to the UK in any way shape or form, it is just that their system is one of the better ones around.

There is a lot of conjecture about what it costs to keep the royal family going, not sure anyone knows the real truth, their value to the economy has been put at 1.55 billion pounds, costs put at 334 million pounds, the overall value of the Monarchy assets has been placed at 56.7 billion pound...........

There will be a major surge in republicanism in AU when she goes, but in the meantime, she is an amazing lady who has done much for her country and the commonwealth during her lifetime, I have nothing but admiration for her.

Once she gone, it's goodnight Charlie, you can be a moron sometimes.......

They generate more income than they cost. Tourists love them. Look at the crowds who come out for the Trooping of the Colour, and to look at the palaces. Don't you think the Hot Dog vendors are making a killing? They are an institution Lee. They are also a tradition worth keeping.

never had to left anything heavier than a cup of tea. never had more stress than wondering when one of the corgis is going to pee on the carpet. the best food and medical attention the UK can offer. and you wonder why they live so long?

i really don't get how phil can retire when he's done sweet sfa all his life?

When Lizzie passes on the crown, will it go to Will or Chucca?
I'd like to think Will and Kate. Don't think that Charlie and the Rotweiler would be popular as King & Queen.

Camilla has become a firm favourite amongst those who care about the Royals.

I'd probably agree that Charles is now grown up enough to assume the throne. Wasn't his fault that he had to breed with a Diana to produce acceptable heir(s).
