Andrew,

To start the sequence, use a small wire to bridge terminals 1 & 8 (bottom left & bottom right) on the white diagnostic plug under the dash . Turn on the ignition (don't start engine), wait 2 secs, then remove the wire. The flash sequence will commence and keep repeating until you turn off the ignition.

If you leave ignition on and re-insert the wire, for a further two seconds this will clear the codes.

Hope this helps
I am trying to do this on a 2010 CRD and I am not having any luck. The bottom right terminal looks like it does not have any wires going to it. Do I have the right one? This is the plug

Technically the plug is mounted upside down. So pins you want are now at the top.

OK. Thanks for that. I did try those pins without luck, but I will give it another go

I just ordered some of these cables

14 Pin to 16 Pin OBD 2 Diagnostic Cable for Nissan - USD $ 7.99

Nissan 14Pin to 16Pin OBD 2 Female Adapter Connector Cable - USD $ 5.99

From all accounts it works to do the pin swap over and you can just use any obd2 bluetooth Dongle.

Rumcajs.. i got some spares if you want one.

Sent from my EGR valve.
Unfortunately wont work as far as i know (who has said it would?), which im guessing you've found if you've got them and tried them yet - unfortunately no OBDII reader can read consult as its an entirely different electrical signalling (and diagnostic protocol). have read of many people who've found this. I bought one a couple years ago just to be sure.

I dont even think the pinout between the two is even correct in terms of getting it to work with say ECUTalk OBDII cable (which is only for consult1 units on pin 12/13 and optionally 14, not for real OBDII), and so i have no idea why the cable even exists - i dont think itd even work for a proper consult 2 scanner which does expect the old consult1 units on pin 12/13/14. Perhaps it was initially made for a 3rd party scan tool that has consult pins on different positions on their scantools OBDII plug, and this its specific to them, but china thought they may as well mass produce it and sell it everywhere in case people think its useful.

I have had no luck with a wire between pins 1 and 8. I think I will be buying a scanguage

Hello fellows

I am quity into the car electronics and just bought myself an 98 2.8tdi gr. The previous owner installed an kcr 100 powerbox onto the zexel nissan ecu. (by a 9p serial interface)

I hope you guys can advice me a bit here. If i want to read and run an diagnostic through the car computer, what kind of interface should i buy ?

And next on, if i want to get in touch with the kcr module (9p serial) what kind of software should i run.

Is this ecu resettable ?

I do have some troubles with the cars ecu

- The glowing time is just a few seconds, i have solved this by installing an manual glow switch.
- The pump that sits on the radiator runs for 30 seconds every time i turn the engine on.

And for the kcr box, i feel that the engine have little torque on low rpm...

Ok, i hope you folks can help me further !

Thanks

Thread mine lol.

How do I get auto box fault codes ??
Tried the connector under the driver side and got 55, no faults stored but I have no 1st/4th/OD and no reverse lights or lights on power/hold switch.
All fuses in kick panel are perfect condition

I can't find anyone here in town that can read the Nissan Consult codes & clear my engine warning light, so will do it myself. i have read some instructions that say to short the pins in the plug & then turn it on & others say to turn it on then short the pins. Is the sequence important or doesn't it matter.

Disconnect your battery for 15 minutes.

Left it disconnected overnight & it's still on. I want to read the code/s to make sure it's only the over temp' warning & that something else isn't wrong after overheating it.

That means it is coming back immediately. OK I had assumed you had read the 'Bible' instructions on how to read and clear codes??

Gee, I've read quite a few threads on here & on other sites & as I said, some say to short the pins then turn the ignition on, while some say to turn it on then short the pins. I'm just trying to find out if the sequence is important & if so, which one is correct.

Yes there are a lot of threads but if you download a copy of the 'Bible' it spells it out. Look in the DI archives, the original went west so I uploaded my copy and stored it there, might even be in the first post.

Checked & cleared codes this morning. Sarted it in the garage & none came up again so will take it for a run shortly to see if any reappear. It had 3 errors

0208 - Engine overheat
0303 - I/C Int/A Temp Sen
0304 - Needle Lift Sen

I suspect the plug for the No.1 injector needle lift sensor got coolant in it, as I cleaned it with MAF cleaner & no errors came up when I started it. The other two are obviusly from the overheating when I lost the coolant.
I've attached the code list for the 2.8L below, as the list in the bible are for the 3L & are different, as well as a picture of the plug, as the one in the bible is not correct for the 2.8 & possibly other earlier models. Short the 12V IGN & Check pins.

I also found that when bridging the terminals, that the engine light didn't go off & start flashing codes until I removed the bridge, after a few seconds.
