Do you still have original top tank on it? Mine was and was still okay and the same with the hoses. I was a bit worried about that top fitting and didn't replace the hoses for that reason.

I used RX super in mine and it had 346000klm on it when I sold it and didn't use oil. Yet I read somewhere that I shouldn't use it for some reason. I think that if you find an oil that works well, you should stick with it.

I've been shown some pics, looks like someone is going into mass production of my 2.5" turbo inlet design (but this time they have dropped their shingleback copy), wonder if I can claim royalties?

Oh well they say “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.” :).
Why don't you look into it, because there is a percentage of change to an original product, that needs to happen before it is deemed not a copy?

Not being tech savvy on these things, how does this differ from the plug an chip thingies, does it cover more variables?

What about fitting a resistor to the line that provides power to your unit?

Foo

Okay, that is a bigger headache then. ;)

There has to be a frequency being emitted through the unit some how, that is connected to revs?

Has taken the 5 days since last post and a few short trips to evacuate all the air from the cooling system after a complete drain and flush and change to Penrite 10Tenths. Still can't get over how smooth the old girl idles, I'm now thoroughly convinced the head gasket was weeping between 3 and 4 for a very long time possibly years and it really only raised its ugly head recently when it found its way into the small water jacket.

Getting the old girl ready for the trip to Hideaway Bay, in a few weeks, going up the back way, starting by traveling through the cattle stations around Biggendon, then up to Biloela, then find a back way to Mackay and on. So looking forward to getting back 'on the road again'.
Just warning you, there is plenty of wild life out n about at the moment.

I think most people don't understand that diesels don't like being over fueled and that causes a lot of grief with temps.

Fulcrum SuperPro 24mm SwayBar.
Well! the SuperPro, Fulcrum 24mm bar is fully installed and been test driven on highway and local roads, I'm about to use two phrases I never thought I could use together about a ZD30DI, "Goes like a Rocket and Handles like a Dream". I can't believe the difference the swaybar made, stability increased significantly without sacrificing the ride I've spent many hours tuning. I'm now considering upgrading the front bar. No issues bolted straight in and the bolts from my extended links fitted without a problem. I'm thinking more K's out of front tyres now.

Purrty!

Were Fulcrum making sway bars back in the 70's? I can remember K-mar (sp) and orange in colour and another one that I used on my 240K.

Mate it is one of the best things I've done to the old girl, handles beautifully. The rear bar did a great job and the later front bar topped it off. They were both around the same price, $340.00 ea.
Bloody hell, it cost me about $100 for one for my 240K over 40yrs ago.

Just back from a quick 760k round trip to see Daughter near Lismore, I made the wrong decision to drive down the Pacific Motorway on Saturday morning, man, the traffic, absolutely insane, stop start from the Gateway to well past the Gold Coast. Won't be doing that again until they do something about those friggin merging lanes .

Anyway, apart from that, it was a great trip, filled up this morning and fuel eco is still slowly improving with average in the low 11's, considering the traffic on the trip down it could well have gotten back into high 10's, time will tell.

With the bigger CM5 in the IC inlet WM has gone up to low 1L/100k. On the way back we drove to Kyogle and came back up through the middle so a fair bit of climbing and winding roads, happy with WM eco and fitting the second tank has made trips a bit easier with the bigger nozzle, still looking for a CM4 though.

The old girl performed faultlessly, touch the throttle and she leaps in response. My wife asked me how much longer I could keep the old girl, I said I could go out and spend $30g on her tomorrow and I'd still be in front of replacing her. Front end was rebuilt when the the E-Locker went in and gearbox was rebuilt when 5th gear dropped its bundle. Still have original rear end bearings etc after 424,000k, the diff has a bit of a howl at 100k so next job may be to replace bearings and crown wheel/pinion, but I'm in no hurry.

Mount Lindsay, always looks beautiful.

Meh, just throw some 🍌🍌 in there. 😇

I had tacho start bouncing and stop along with something else a few times and always found that it went away after stopping and turning the motor off. Got me stuffed what was going on. 🙄

CRANK ANGLE SENSOR.
After fitting the new CAS yesterday I did 60k's up the Bruce this morning and all good so far, like the guy who fell from the 100th floor was saying on he is way down 'so far so good'. I must admit that the codes I was seeing on my ECUTalk (other than the 0407 CAS, which I can do on the side of the road) had me concerned when still having over 4,500k left to go on the trip before I get home, the 2 below were right up there in concern.
I know from 23 years of experience that not all ECU codes are explicit, some can be offshoots caused by the main contender.

0702 Top Dead Centre Pulse Signal
(incorrect signal from the Injection Pump Control Unit)
Refer to Injection Pump Control Unit
Circuit malfunction, Injection Pump Control Unit

0705 Pump Control Module
Circuit malfunction, Injection Pump Control Unit failure

Both of the above showed up numerous times and we know that high temps can eventually cause failure of the circuit board on top of the VP44 (the 6 cylinder VP44 in the US had issues with that). I installed a fuel cooler years ago after several of us had a long discussion on the VP44, cooler works bloody great and I don't have engine overheating issues, plus I fitted a new VP44 in 2019.
The last 2 days of the trip saw none of the 0702 or 0704 and more of the CAS 0407, which I took as a good sign.
I'm not going to claim a win yet, more K's before I do that, but I am hopeful.
I suppose the message is think carefully about codes before acting, if in my case it is the pump board then the CAS is a false one, if it was the CAS then the pump codes are false.
Time will tell.
Know nothing about the code with the ZD but with the truck, one code can have two A4 sheets of associated problems relating to that one code. o_O

How long between tests? Could it be due to gearing change as a result of tyre wear?
This something that most would not even consider! ;)

Foo

Tyre wear is negligible so no not related to that, and tyres are constantly at 38psi cold. I do tests regularly as the test strip is only a couple of K away and often on my way home, I have test data logged in my ph for immediate refference, mainly 60-80 and 80-100. Hadn't done a standing 400m in a couple of months and as said the ECUTalk retains standing 0-60, 0-100 and std 400m, the latter is the only one of the 'standing' runs I really take notice of.

Lol, I'm deaf not stupid .

What?

Maybe it had something to do with the air density yesterday?
